A310 4 Cylinder Front 'Chin' Spoiler

How much difference do these front spoilers make to the handling of the car?

My car handles really well on tight narrow roads but put it on the motorway at a steady 70 + mph and the front feels very light.

I have had the alignment set (0.5 toe in), suspension dampers are good and the tyres are new and whilst I have experimented with different tyre pressures, it still feels a bit scary at the higher speeds.

or type 2 4-hole rims ??
What is the type of rear spoiler on your car:
Small foam or garlic GT pack style ??

The "Alpines" are very sensitive to geometry settings.

On a 4 cylinder 1600 VE for example there was no rear wing!
This A310 has a very good aerodynanism with its line of origin very pure.
It is very well balanced because the 4-cylinder engine is lighter than the V6.
In my opinion no need for a spoiler that is useless on this old car to have a better support on the ground!
Holding in a straight line on the highway is a little shaken for the A310 4 cylinders and V6 type 1.
This has been greatly improved on the V6 Type 2 owning the R5 Turbo trains!

Many thanks for the responses - it is a VG 4 cylinder.

In typical fashion, as we were preparing another car for the start of a pre- war classic rally, The Flying Scotsman, I stepped on a discarded tool and twisted my ankle and managed to snap 2 bones so I shall be in plaster for the next 6 weeks. The fact that I am entered on the Peking to Paris rally in a few weeks time is of course a worry!!

So I won't be driving the Alpine for perhaps up to 3 months.

That table of suspension settings is helpful and I will get my settings checked against these in due course.

However, is it true to say that from what people seem to be saying, these front spoilers appear to be more for looks than any practical advantage?
