Autosolo

Not sure if the word Autosolo means anything outside of the UK, but it is a course timed to the second of usually about 0.5 mile in length which because of regulations have to take place within an area of 200 x 200m.

You walk the course before hand and it is marked by cones with a cone on the side indicating which side of the cone you have to pass.

The entry is split into three, and you take turns in competing, marshalling and spectating. Usually four different courses and you have three goes at each with the best two of each to count. Most tests were of about 90 seconds duration

Great fun, cheap and non damaging.

I had my VG out competing against modern cars and I attach a dash cam video. Results not great as a Clio and all the MX5s were far quicker. My son was out in his MK2 Escort (2L Pinto) and he was about 6 seconds a test quicker which I put down to his faster car but he says age has an affect!!
