I am about to cut off the front end of the bodywork to my A110 and fit a new section forward of the door hinge pillars
this includes the lower section of windscreen. see photos

the existing dashboard will be kept in place

is there anyone out there that had done this before and can offer advice

Yes I have erected a steel frame for reference and am going to do a detailed survey on another car to see how it compares.

I see you kept the windscreen section . It was my plan to replace this section also .

Be aware of the fact that the new body part is from a different mold (probably from a FASA or an earlier mold (beginning years of the seventies, where the old one is from a later year in the 70's.

any advice on fitting radiator grill

Basically the 6 hooks have to be bent to 90° to receive some screw to fix the grill through the inner lip from the overture in the bodywork. It will not fit perfectly, you will not be able to use 6 point of attachment and you have to bend the grill by hand.

il s'agit d'une pièce absolument non conforme à la pièce d'origine et quasiment impossible à monter : elle est plate alors que la pièce d'origine est arrondie (et le marbre pour la fabriquer est bien arrondi) et ensuite les pattes de fixations sont non conformes à l'origine et particulièrement laides.
beaucoup de temps perdu pour la monter et à perte car le résultat final sera toujours décevant.

Au vu de la dernière photo, la grille semble fixée par l'intérieur, j'ai toujours cru qu'elle devait être fixée par l'exterieur Qu'en est-il vraiment? quel est le montage d'origine ? Sur ma SX, elle est fixée par l'extérieur depuis que je l'ai, mais est-ce le montage d'origine??

Ouf, ca me rassure, j'ai eu peur d'avoir acheté une "merguez" il y a 36 ans
Sérieusement, c'est bien ce qui me semblait, je ne voyais pas comment monter cette grille avec le radiateur, le cache et tout le tremblement en place.
