Re: Alpine A110 fitting new bodywork to front end
Hello !
I've already done this operation. It's not very difficult, you just have to make a lot of measures to ensure that the new part will fit perfectly.
I've explained the method on my other forum (it's more detailled than what I wrote on the FAR) :
http://www.forum-auto.com/automobiles-m ... 3-8085.htm
Good luck

Yes I have erected a steel frame for reference and am going to do a detailed survey on another car to see how it compares.
I see you kept the windscreen section . It was my plan to replace this section also .

Re: Alpine A110 fitting new bodywork to front end
Be aware of the fact that the new body part is from a different mold (probably from a FASA or an earlier mold (beginning years of the seventies, where the old one is from a later year in the 70's.
Good luck with the transition though.

Basically the 6 hooks have to be bent to 90° to receive some screw to fix the grill through the inner lip from the overture in the bodywork. It will not fit perfectly, you will not be able to use 6 point of attachment and you have to bend the grill by hand.

Re: Alpine A110 fitting new bodywork to front end

Re: Alpine A110 fitting new bodywork to front end
in translation you said :...
it is a part absolutely not in conformity with the original part and almost impossible to assemble: it is flat whereas the original part is rounded (and the marble to make it is well rounded) and then the legs fasteners are non-compliant at the origin and particularly ugly.
a lot of wasted time to mount it and at a loss because the end result will always be disappointing.
note sure what you meant by 'marbre'
Merci beaucoup .
Many thanks . i got the gist of what you said given i had to translate into english. some shaping seems necessary and a different fixing seems the better option.

Re: Alpine A110 fitting new bodywork to front end

Re: Alpine A110 fitting new bodywork to front end
