Top Dead Centre on 1600 engine
Can anyone please tell me which of the two marks on my flywheel I should use to get No. 1 cylinder to Top Dead Centre, left one or the right one?

With a screw driver in plug hole 1 or 4 you can tell and align with the clutch case marking.
If i had to guess i'd say the right one because the left one could be for the static advance ignition timing (5 to 10° usually).

Re: Top Dead Centre on 1600 engine
Bonjour

Re: Top Dead Centre on 1600 engine
Further to your reply my distributor is the 4266 with the R234 curve, as stated in the MR Type A110. I have just had it converted to 123ignition due to wear in the shaft and problems with the bob weights and springs. It has been programmed with the R.234 curve. I understand that the R267 and R278 refer to the A310VE and A310VF models respectively?

Re: Top Dead Centre on 1600 engine
The 123 is perfect and honestly the difference between these curves is practically NIL!
The only serious parameter to watch is:
no more than 32° (34?) maximum advance.
