Re: Alpine 110 restauration
on the Alpine works cars in 1969 there was only the rear tank, the front tank was not mounting. the two tanks (with little tank on rear, not the 90 L ) are mounted only on the first alpine works cars, before autumn 1968.

Good to hear from you Jukka.
You are doing a great job with the refurbishment of your A110.
I notice you are coming up to the end with your fuel tanks.
I hope we will have the opportunity seing this car in France one of these days.
Hope you had fun at the Renault Days!
Best regards
François

Re: Alpine 110 restauration
Very good job and bravo for the cleanliness and organization of your workshop!
I noticed you use big brakes (dia 48mm) in front and keep the original small breaks (dia 32 mm) at the back.
I tried that but really it does not work well: too little braking force on the back wheels, and can even be dangerous in some cases.
A good compromise is to mount the FRONT small breaks in the back (diam 38mm).
Or may be you already have enlarged the diameter of the piston of these small back breaks, which would be ideal?

What can I say ? Good job and perfectly well done.
Concerning your brakes you can follow the advices of Mister PhL, he is an expert and a jolly good friend.
I wish you to ride and enjoy as soon as possible with your perfectly restored car

Re: Alpine 110 restauration
Hello all,
I am also very impressed with Jukkas work and look forward to the finished car.
One question to the experts regarding the brake issue. I also have the big brakes at the front and small brakes at the rear.
I want to change to 38mm by modification of the calipers to 38mm. Is it still ok to use the 19mm master brake cylinder or di I need 22mm?
Thanks
Robert

Re: Alpine 110 restauration
Yes Robert, it works fine with the 19mm Master Cylinder.
Why dont you use the front calipers? It's simpler.
And in case you really want a hand break, just add an hydraulic one.

Re: Alpine 110 restauration
Hello PHL,
thanks for the quick reply.
Yes it would be simpler to use the front calipers but I need the handbrake for the TÜV (inspection body) in Germany
They also do not accept the hydraulic hand brake.
So I will increase the bore in the rear calipers to 38mm and use the pistons and seals from the front calipers.
Thanks
Robert

Re: Alpine 110 restauration
Hello Everybody
Thanks for your tips and info concerning my project.
I notice that from tank issue from fantastic Alpine history book "The fabulous Alpinettes" 2 month ago. Be fore that I have asked help with all details for my project. Well thanks for that photo GVallerian. Does anybody have any other important info from 77 53 GH 76 Alpine ?
I try to get it ready for this summer.
For the brakes. I have normal brakes in it not big ones. I did buy big ones also but notice that they did not use those in this Alpine. So with normal brakes.
I really like to have more details from this 7753 GH 76 Alpine.... please.
Cheers: Jukka

Bonjour Alpine people.
Does anybody have photos from the front from 1969 Alpine 110 usine. Photo where I can see details how spare wheel is in there and brake liquid bottels and other things. I would be very happy to have as many photos as possible. Not only 7753 GH76 Alpine.
