I must rebuild my 2.7ltr engine and am looking for data. I have started a chart of several PRV variants with focus on the PRVs in the US. My ideal engine is to take the best parts of the different configurations and build more power. I want it to appear stock however that is the only challenge. If someone has already done this I would appreciate any recommendations. This is the chart I have started to bring the data together:
I will be working on an engine sim with a friend and I would appreciate the following information:
1) Dyno curve with AFR for a stock engine
2) Cam data, opening and closing or duration, and lift
3) Combustion chamber volume (measured)
4) Intake and Exhaust port diamter and length
At the moment this is an academic study because the cold weather has set in but in the spring I want to be ready with a plan. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.
Brian

Re: I am looking for PRV engine technical information
Hi,
Look, my file, I think you get some useful information. Diameter valve characteristics and camshaft.
http://alpinerenault.free.fr/outils/for ... p?id=30869
There are some error exists in your file. For example, the type of engine the Alpine A310 is 112 730. Z7V is the first generation Renault R25 V6i with K jetronic injector.
The Comp Ratio 112 730 10/1 and the Renault 25 is 9.2
If I understand correctly, you want to make a 2.7 highly efficient? with carburetors? injections?
For me, the ideal would be to take down all motor 112,730 these pistons with more curved, then take the heads and motor Z7V the camshaft or camshafts of the Volvo 760 GLE.
I advise you that, for me too, on my side, I did the same research as you
Best Regards.
Pascal.

Re: I am looking for PRV engine technical information
YOU ROCK!!!! I greatly appreciate the information! I will PM you about the quest I am on. The short story is I am wanting to keep it carbureted but convert it to the Holly carb - very cost effective in the US $400usf. I don't know how I can tune the Solex carbs and I can't say I really understand their architecture. The Holly carb can be fit and made to look stock and easily tuned with a wideband 02 sensor in the headers. I am not looking for a power house but if I can bump the hp to 170-200hp that would be ideal especially if I can do it with stock parts from other engines.

Re: I am looking for PRV engine technical information
I have the start of a PRV simulation and would appreciate any feedback and clarification on exact geometry. We estimated the following:
1) Port diamter, at the head and at the valve seat
2) Rocker ratio and cam lift (1.5?)
3) Cam center line (108?)
4) Cam profile / lift
5) Cfm of the carbs
Based on my discussion with other PRV guys the trends of the results look correct but before I proceed further I would like to get a group confirmation the input data looks correct. I will be looking for the 2.8 and 3.0 data next so if you have that I would appreciate the help.

Re: I am looking for PRV engine technical information
hello,
look on the net the program "wheeler dealers" from discovery channel the episode withe the a 310 alpine in it( you can donwload from you-tube) where they modify the alpine with an "holley carburettor set"
perhaps this could help you
greetings paul

Re: I am looking for PRV engine technical information
Sensitivity analysis showing which attributes have the greatest effect on the horsepower for the 2.7PRV. My target is 200hp but my realistic goal is 180hp. The two attributes that have the greatest effect (by simulation) is the valve lift and exhaust port efficiency.
I spent several months porting the heads
The result after the porting job - flow bench comparison
I was expecting more from the exhaust port and less from the intake port. I specified the intake angles but relied on the machinists recommendation for the exhaust port. In then end I wish I had gone with my spec for the exhaust too. I am done tuning the head though. There are more points and will comment when I have more time to respond.

Re: I am looking for PRV engine technical information
So what's your potential BRKHP gain after machining the exhaust and intake of the head ?
How much do you expect realistically ?
That's some awesome stuff. Are you a professionnal ?
